Location: Aston,PA, Member Since: May 14, 2017 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: I was always a runner when I was younger. I ran both Cross Country and Track. I ran distance, and was also a sprinter (200M, 400M). As I got older and began having children, running took a backseat to everything else going on. I started making running a priority for myself again when my youngest was about 3 months old. He just recently turned 2 years old. Since getting back into running almost two years ago, below are the major races, PRs I have accomplished to date:
5K (4/2017) - 22:31
Rocky Run Italian Stallion Challenge (5K & 10 Mile) (11/2016) - 1:55:32
Philly Rock-n-Roll Half-Marathon (9/2016) - 1:58:47
Short-Term Running Goals: Currently, my goal is to complete my first marathon. I have registered for the Philadelphia Marathon in Nov 2017 and have already begun training. I completed my first half-marathon last year, and I am ready to up the challenge. When I was young, growing up in Boston, MA, my dream was to someday run the Boston Marathon. This is still a dream of mine, and I hope to one day be able to run a qualifying time. But first things first. In order to get to the point where I can train to run a qualifying time, I need to complete a marathon. I feel that because I was able to finish my first half in under 2 hours, with only training 3 days a week, that where I have now upped my training to 5 days a week, that I can hopefully make under 4 hours a realistic goal for my first marathon, but on the conservative side I will say I would definitely like to finish in under 4:20:00. Long-Term Running Goals: Long-term running goal is to someday run a BQ marathon time in a qualifying race. I grew up outside of Boston and this has always been a goal of mine, and life got in the way for awhile there, but now at almost 35 years of age, I have found that being the best mom I can to my three boys, means showing them that if you have a dream/goal, you never stop working to achieve it. I may not run a BQ qualifying time before I'm 40, maybe I won't run it before I'm 50, but I will keep working at it until I get there. Personal: I am married to my best friend, Frank. We have 3 boys: Brodie (8), Maddux (3) and Avery (2). As well as, two fur-babies: Loomis (10) & Lucky (9). I work full-time for a Global Health Insurance Company, so my runs are usually 3:30/4AM runs or 8/9PM, when the rest of my family is sleeping, and before or after work. Fitting in runs around my schedule and my husband's can be a challenge as he works swing shift and his schedule is always different, but I have committed myself to this goal and have been able to find time to get my long runs in, and still fit four additional runs in a week. |
